Travelling by train
There are two main railway stations in Edinburgh, Waverley (city centre) and Haymarket (West of the city centre), with direct trains to many Scottish and English cities.
Travelling by plane

Travelling by bus
Numerous coach companies travel between UK cities to Edinburgh. Most buses to Edinburgh arrive at the Edinburgh Bus Station. The bus station is on St Andrew Square in the city centre.
Travelling by car
Edinburgh is connected to the rest of Scotland and UK through an extensive road network. Glasgow is an hour away on the M8, Newcastle is approximately a 2.5-hour drive, Manchester 4 hours away and Birmingham is a 6-hour drive. Travelling to Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh Campus) Heriot-Watt University’s Edinburgh Campus is located six miles from the city centre and can be reached by car and public transport. Bus links to Heriot-Watt Campus
Lothian Buses offers services 25, 34, and 45 to Heriot-Watt University. The journey takes approximately 30-40mins. The 25 is the most frequent bus to Edinburgh Campus, leaving the city centre every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes after 19.00. Lothian buses are fitted with contactless payment technology.
